A stronger cousin of the clinch — double-through-the-eye for extra security on mono/fluoro.
line-to-hookBeginnerStrength 4/5monofilamentfluorocarbon
How to tie it
- 1Pass the tag through the hook eye twice, leaving a small double loop at the eye.
- 2Wrap the tag around the standing line 5–6 times.
- 3Bring the tag back through the double loop at the eye.
- 4Wet it and cinch down slowly; trim the tag.
Common mistakes
- Crossing the double loops so they don't seat
- Not wetting before cinching
When not to use it
Braid (slips). Great for mono/fluoro.
